about
This song doesn't really fit with the rest of the album (perhaps Myrrh in a sacreligious way), but it is fun. A hokey tribute to the greatest Christmas movies of all time - Die Hard 1 & Die Hard 2. (Die Hard 3 & 4 are great too, but aren't Christmas films.) The harmonica still makes me laugh every time I hear it.
lyrics
"Merry Christmas, John McClane"
A cop from New York down in LA
Visiting your family for Christmas day
But you're angry coz your wife is using her maiden name
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
Later on you'll abseil down a fire hose
Right now you're making fists with your toes
While Hans Gruber's doing monologues, you better run away
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
Taking out the bad guys one by one
Ho ho ho! Now you have a machine gun
Then you're crawling around an air vent and trying to stay sane
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
Al Powell eating twinkees arrives at last
He's the cop from Family Matters, I guess he is typecast
You both become best friends but you tell him Roy's your name
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
Deputy Dwayne and the FBI don't help
You end up saving the day all by yourself
You're knocked about, you're bleeding out, but you never wain
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
In Die Hard 2, you meet with Dennis Franz
He pooed his pants when you shot him with blanks
You run around an airport trying to save planes
Yippee-ki-yay!
Merry Christmas, John McClane
Yippee-ki-yay! Merry Christmas, John McClane!
